		<description>Rubes in Paris
In June 2024, I spent 10 days in Paris visiting my best friends. Paris is the best city to walk around in, but this time, I got to be a flaneuse on a bike. After that experience, I can’t imagine not riding a bike around Paris any time I visit. It was an unforgettable experience.

I’m more drawn to nature, but I love cities and the way they almost organically form. I feel like cities are their own ecosystem,&#38;nbsp; more like coral reefs and forests that we realize. In cities, things build on top of other things on top of other things and somehow all of the things find a way to live incredibly close together and still manage to function smoothly. This page showcases my explorations of the human-made world.
Spanish VillageI taught myself how to create isometric drawings in Illustrator. This is a secret little town in Spain that I adore. If you look closely at the details, you can figure out where it is.

The American Society of Trial Consultants (ASTC) asked for a much needed update of their outdated website. This is the most complex website that I have designed an includes an interactive “Members Only” area as well as a content management system employed across the site for easy updates in the future. Supervisor Glenn Church
www.GlennChurch.comGlenn Church’s team approached me to design his campaign candidate website and, after he won, his North County Supervisor’s website. We wanted a clean design that had references to the locale of North County. The color scheme and photos reflect the Monterey Bay, the Elkhorn Slough, Moss Landing and the oaky, rolling hills of the North Monterey County. It was essential that this website contain information that the public could easily interact with and navigate. It was also important that his team be able to update their blog and community calendar independently. I made sure to work with them to show them how to use the site after it was finished. At Suann Ingle Associates (SIA) I was a presentation specialist. We worked closely with attorneys preparing for trials or other types of legal hearings to create custom graphics. These graphics had to somtimes teach very complicated material to a judge or jury, somtimes persuade the jury one way or the other, and somtimes clarify events on a timeline so that the judge or jury could keep the story straight. I find this type of work to be challenging and fullfilling, combining a perfect blend of my experience as a designer and as a teacher.

I’ve been hired to create logos for a variety of different buisnesses and organizations. I enjoy working with a team of people in order to come up with the perfect visual representation of their brand.&#38;nbsp;
Yoga Salinasyogasalinas.com 

Yoga Salinas hired me to do a complete rebranding for them. The former logo depicted a hand and an outline of a local mountain range. It felt dated, but contained an essence of place that we wanted to retain. The final result depicts a blooming lotus, a fundamental symbol in the practice of Yoga, in rows of agricultural fields. The Salinas Valley is known as the “salad bowl of the world” and the rows of lettuce surrounding the city are ubiquitous. This new design retains the essence of the former, while bringing it into the 21st century. The circular logo is perfect for social media images, whereas the former logo was too large to fit naturally in the constraints of a digital profile. Yoga Salinas now has a versate logo that functions and retains it soul and spirit of place.&#38;nbsp;

 The owner of The Body Shoppe advertises her business exclusively on social media platforms and needed a distinctive logo that was expressive of her business and easy to use online. The result was pair of hands facing each other, seeming to contain an energy within them.&#38;nbsp;

North Salinas High School&#38;nbsp;

This is the high school where I taught Graphic Design and Digital Art. There was a de facto ambivalence toward the school mascot as it was an exact duplication of the Minnesota Vikings logo. I worked with a team of staff, alumni, and students to design a new logo for the school. We also created a female version, which hadn’t existed before. The new logo brings freshness and a consistent image to the school. Even though I am no longer a teacher, I am proud of this work and like to think of it as another way I made a difference in the community there.&#38;nbsp;

		<description>Native Plants CalendarWhen I first moved to the Central Coast of California, there were so many plants I had never seen before. I decided to start learning their names. At the time, I was very inspired by French and Italian advertisement posters from the early 20th century (and still am!). I used this project as a study of their use of color, fonts, and composition.&#38;nbsp;January - Calla Lily
